After 15 Years, Shree’s Crab Bucket Closes — But Owner Shree Parchman Says “The Kitchen Is Still Open”

Savannah’s Shree’s Crab Bucket, known for its shrimp and grits and its journey from festival food truck to brick-and-mortar restaurant, served its last plate this spring. But owner Shree Parchman says the closure isn’t the end of her story – it’s a pivot toward something more personal.

From a Georgia Festival to a Savannah Storefront
Parchman’s food journey began in 2009 at the Washpot Festival in Garfield, Georgia. From there, she took her cooking on the road, running a food truck through the Atlanta festival circuit – stops included One Music Fest, Inman Park Festival, Snellville Days, the Duluth Fall Festival, Sandy Springs Festival, and events around Stone Mountain.
The business eventually found its way to Savannah, where Parchman built a following slinging plates out of barbershops and, later, a small counter inside a gas station before opening the full restaurant that became Shree’s Crab Bucket. Along the way, the restaurant earned local recognition, including honors for Best Shrimp and Grits of Savannah and Best of Georgia Regional for seafood.
Why the Restaurant Closed
Parchman shares that the decision to close was a tough one, but necessary – a choice rooted in family rather than business struggles, and one that ultimately shaped the direction of her new venture.
Shree’s Crab Bucket served its final plate on March 22nd.
The Meal-Prep Connection
Parchman says the experience of caring for her mother directly shaped the direction of her new venture. Juggling appointments, medications, and daily caregiving left little time or energy for cooking most nights — a reality she says resonates far beyond her own household.
She’s positioning the newly branded, My Shree Amour Catering & Meal Prep Services around that idea, aiming to serve caregivers, seniors, teachers, nurses, first responders, single parents, and busy professionals who need a home-cooked meal without the time to make one.

A Family Business, In Every Sense
Parchman has been open about the role her family has played throughout the journey, from her son Skylar, whom she calls “the backbone of this business” since he was nine years old, to her husband Fontae, whom she credits with supporting her dream even when it meant setting aside his own, and their youngest son Nyle, who helps when he can and is their biggest fan.
“This isn’t an ending, it’s an evolution,” Parchman wrote. “We’re bringing the same passion, flavors, quality, and love that made Shree’s Crab Bucket special, but in a way that allows us to continue serving our customers while creating balance for our family.”
